Photography Tours FAQ

We offer small-group and private photo tours for photography enthusiasts, amateur photographers and anyone wanting to take great photos of Prague sights with their own camera (or smartphone). Small-group tours are limited to of 4 people max.

What camera do I need to bring to a Photography Tour?

Any digital camera or smartphone is fine. You can even bring a film camera, although it will be less interactive.

Do I need to know about photography already?

No, we welcome everyone with an interest in photography. Our early morning tours are aimed at photography enthusiasts.

What if there is bad weather on the day of the Photography Tour?

We aim to run all booked tours, but if very bad weather is forecast we may need to cancel the tour last minute. We will inform you of any bad weather cancellation and will aim to reschedule the tour for another day.
If rescheduling is not possible, we will refund your payment.

Does the guide take photos of me?

Not usually, but if you are looking for someone to take photos of you or your family, our Prague Photoshoot with a Professional Photographer is a perfect solution

What times do photography tours start?

We aim to run small-group tours either around 45 mins after sunrise for the best light.  During the summer months there is also a late afternoon tour which starts around 3:30pm

How do I book a place on a small-group Photography Tour?

The booking calendar on the Small-Group Photo Tour page displays all the available dates where you can select and book a tour instantly through this website and pay by credit card or Paypal, by simply following the steps below. After booking is completed, you will receive a booking confirmation email with the details of your tour.

1. Select your date in the calendar
2. Select the correct ‘Rate’ according to the number of people who are coming
3. Under ‘Dates’, select the start time of your tour
4. Select the number of ‘People’ attending
5. Click the ‘Book’ button
6. On the Order Summary page, add your personal details and agree to the terms & conditions
7. Enter your credit card details and hit the ‘Pay’ button

Do I need a ticket, or need to show ID at the meeting point?

You will receive your booking confirmation by email. Once you have made a confirmed booking we will have your name and the number of persons you booked for. Simply show up at the meeting point at the time shown in your confirmation email and show your confirmation email or some ID.

Will there be other people on the Photo Tour?

Yes it is possible other travellers will join our group tour. Early morning and afternoon small-group tours are open to all and have a maximum capacity of 4 persons.

I wanted to book a Photography Tour tomorrow, but it’s not showing on the calendar anymore.

Instant booking is not possible the last few hours before the start time. If you want to book very last minute, sent us a message with the contact form at the bottom of the page.

What should I wear?

Please wear suitable clothes for the weather. We will be outside for 3 hours, and the weather can change quickly.

Fitness level

We aim to accommodate all guests where possible. The group tour lasts 3 hours and involves a lot of walking, sometimes on a slope and on cobbled streets. You should be fit enough to walk the 3 hours at a good pace. In case you have mobility needs or think that a group tour may be too fast paced, you can always opt to take a private tour. Can I bring children?

On small-group tours children over 15 are welcome as an additional guest (the booker must be 18+). As with all guests we ask that you have an interest in photography.

Can a non-photographer attend a small-group tour for free?

No, this option is not available for small-group tours.

If you book a private tour, we may allow 1 non-photographer to attend free per booking.

Can I pay by credit card?

Yes, you can pay using credit card or Paypal. We use the secure payment service of 

Can I pay cash at the Meeting Point?

No this is currently not possible. All bookings must be booked online in advance.

Can I cancel my Group Photo Tour booking?

You can cancel your booking made on this website up to 24 hours before the start of your booked tour. Just send us a message before the deadline. You will receive a cancellation email and we will refund your payment via Paypal. Refunds may take several days to complete.

IMPORTANT: If you booked on another website, eg. TripAdvisor, Viator or GetYourGuide you must cancel on their website. We cannot cancel those bookings for you.

Cancellation is not possible less than 24 hours before your tour. No refund can be made in this case.

I have an iPhone/Android phone. Is it good enough to take photos?

Yes. The group tour is also good for smartphone users. Our guide will give you tips how to compose better photos with your smartphone.

Night Photo Tours

What camera should I bring to a night photo tour?

Any digital camera with manual settings for ISO, shutter speed and aperture should be fine. It should have a standard tripod screw mount  for attaching to a tripod. We will provide you will a small tripod for the duration of the tour.

Can I use a smartphone?

We really do not recommend it, because the quality of smartphone photos at night time is usually quite low, and no manual settings are possible. However we do have smartphone adaptors for our tripods, so please let us know in advance if you will be using a smartphone.

Is night photography complicated? Do I need experience?

To get a good photo at night takes longer and requires some basic knowledge of photography. Your guide will be able to teach you the basics, but at minimum you need to already know how to make adjustments of ISO, shutter speed and aperture on your own camera.

Private Photography Tours

Can I have a private tour without other travellers?

Yes, we can offer you an all-day private tour, just for you or your own group. A private photography tour can be tailored to your needs. You may want to visit specific places, just let us know. And if you need guidance with your camera we can help with that too.

Can a non-photographer guest attend a private tour for free?

Yes, one non-photographer guest can attend a private tour free of charge.

2: it does not apply to group tours)

Can I book a just one tour privately?

We offer an all-day private photography tour, which consists of 3 separate tours on the same day.
